NASBLA signs online course deal with Boat Ed

Posted on

The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators selected Boat Ed to develop and deliver its online courses for marine law enforcement and emergency first responders.

NASBLA’s training and credentialing through its boat operations and training program is recognized as the national standard by the Coast Guard.

“By providing a portion of training online, we can offer a high-quality education while reducing the number of travel days and costs for students and their agencies,” NASBLA executive director John Johnson said in a statement. “During a time when travel restrictions are becoming more common, online training can help us handle the increased demand for training and improve our course offerings.”

In 2013, Boat Ed will deliver five online boat operations and training program courses: Boating Accident Investigation; Navigation Rules; GPS Forensics; Boat Crew Member; and Boat Operator Search and Rescue.

Boat Ed, a NASBLA mission partner since 2008, is an official provider of print and Internet boating safety courses for 49 states and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Launched in 1995, Boat Ed is an American company dedicated to working with the state agencies and organizations to deliver a range of effective training opportunities. Boat Ed’s boating safety courses at boat-ed.com provide official, state-specific training for recreational boaters.

NASBLA is a national non-profit organization that works to develop public policy for recreational boating safety. The organization represents the recreational boating authorities of all 50 states and the U.S. territories.
