Exposure Marine X2 gains endorsement

Posted on

The Norwegian Sea Rescue Association recommended the British-made Exposure Marine X2 searchlight for the professional and recreational marine market by adding it to the group’s existing range of recommended safety equipment.

The association is a voluntary, membership-based organization that aims to save lives and protect the environment. It runs a fleet of high-speed rescue craft based at 57 locations along the Norwegian coast and the X2 is to be used and tested throughout the fleet.

Operating in near arctic conditions, man-overboard and rescue situations become even more life-threatening because of the cold. The group chose the X2 because of its man-overboard-related features, including a 700-lumens searchlight, as well as its high-powered SOS and strobe facility that’s visible from more than 3 nautical miles.

As a result of the group’s recommendation, the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club has specified that 700-lumens-strength lights are now mandatory safety equipment for the Faerder Race 2013, one of the world’s largest overnight regattas, with more than 1,100 boats taking place.
