Marinas join discount program in MassachusettsPosted on
The Massachusetts Marine Trades Association announced that 18 marinas recently enrolled in the 2013 Stay Local, Boat Massachusetts Transient Boater Referral Program.
Now it its fifth year, the reciprocal program encourages seasonal guests to visit participating destination marinas in exchange for reduced transient dockage rates.
Designed to promote the concept of “Stay-cation,” the Stay Local program keeps boating-related tax dollars local while rewarding customer loyalty and promoting each participating facility. Stay Local is mutually beneficial to participating facilities and their customers.
“Boaters with discount cards are inspired to travel along the Massachusetts coast and explore destination marinas along the way while at the same time saving money,” Randall Lyons, program founder and Newburyport Marinas manager, said in a statement.
Participating marinas include Bass River Marina, of West Dennis; Brewer Fiddler’s Cove, of North Falmouth; Brewer Hawthorne Cove, of Salem; Constitution Marina, of Boston; Crosby Yacht Yard, of Osterville; Glover Wharf Marina, of Beverly; Green Harbor Marina, of Marshfield; Hingham Shipyard Marinas; Kingman Yacht Center, of Cataumet; Manchester Marine; Moby Dick Marina, of Fairhaven; Newburyport Marinas; Parker’s Boatyard, of Cataumet; Scituate Cole Parkway Marina; Scituate Marine Park Marina; and Steamboat Wharf Marina, of Hull.
