NMMA Canada meets legislators in OttawaPosted on
The Canadian arm of the National Marine Manufacturers Association gathered May 1 on Parliament Hill with members of the recreational boating industry to advocate for policies that support the industry.
Attendees met with members of Parliament, cabinet ministers, senior staff from ministers’ offices and senior departmental staff from Transport Canada, according to the NMMA. The second annual Day on the Hill was a success, as more than 25 industry leaders met on Parliament Hill to address key issues such as water access, trade barriers and regulations.
The event provided an opportunity to share results from a new NMMA Canada Economic Impact Study with those on Parliament Hill and proved to be a critical element of the industry’s advocacy efforts data that helped the industry to build an accurate understanding of the Canadians who make up recreational boating and the positive economic impact boating has across the country.
The Day on the Hill closed with an outdoor reception under a tent on a warm sunny day, reminding everyone that the kickoff to the Canadian boating season is near. PWC were brought into the courtyard to create a visual impact on Parliament Hill.
