Raymarine announces first winner in monthly contest

Raymarine announced the first winner of its new monthly Dragonfly Screen Capture Competition.

Ben Garlick of Queensland, Australia, won a refund of the full purchase price of his Dragonfly system, as well as a Dragonfly sun cover and carrying case, by submitting the winning shot for April’s screen capture competition.

His eye-catching screen shot captured a bale of turtles swimming beneath his boat in a large, shallow estuary of water off the east coast of Australia.

Dragonfly’s CHIRP DownVison sonar technology was able to capture a clear shot of the turtles shortly before they ventured to the surface of the water to greet Ben and his boat. Ben won the competition by completing an online form found on Raymarine’s website.

Dragonfly’s technology provides two independent channels enabling the ultimate in fish targeting through its CHIRP sonar technology, with underwater imagery using CHIRP DownVision.

The screen capture competition challenges boaters and anglers to discover the world beneath their boat, sharing their best “Dragonfly in action” screen captures with the world.

Each month Raymarine will choose the best submissions. Winners will receive a Dragonfly sun cover and carrying case for any screen capture images published by the company. Additionally, one winner each month will receive a refund of the full purchase price of the Dragonfly system.
