Navigator Yachts adds West Coast dealerPosted on
Crow’s Nest Yachts is now the exclusive dealer for Navigator Yachts at its locations in Seattle, Newport Beach and San Diego after the yacht builder was bought by a private equity investment group.
Crow’s Nest Yachts will take delivery of the first 2014 52-foot Navigator model at its docks in San Diego in early September, a move that signifies the company is back to producing boats and introducing new models as planned.
Navigator Yachts, builder of Navigator Yachts and Californian Yachts, was sold to a private equity investment group and was operating under the name Navigator Yachts and Products Inc., general manager Alberto Cogliati told Trade Only Today in February. The new owners did not want to release their identity to the public.
Cogliati told Trade Only at the time that he wanted to sign new dealers in the United States and abroad since the company went from building four yachts a month during robust economic times to about eight to 10 units a year.
He also said he planned to introduce new models without increasing the price.
The 5200 is the newest Navigator model, featuring new hull windows with openings for air in the master stateroom, redesigned engine room vents for increased air flow and better aesthetics, a new hardtop with a slimmer profile and a built-in sliding sunroof and modified interiors to accommodate a more modern European design.
“We’re excited to represent Navigator Yachts for buyers in California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia,” Dale Partna of Crow’s Nest Yachts said in a statement. “Their yachts fill a niche for pilothouse models in the mid-range market, and those boats are in high demand up and down the West Coast.”
Navigator Yachts have been built in California since 1988. The company was founded by Jule Marshall, who is no longer involved with it.
The company features Pilothouse models from 45 to 62 feet, with a distinct hull shape designed to use a minimum amount of fuel and horsepower while retaining the maximum amount of boat speed and efficiency. Interiors are semicustom, with owners able to choose their own layout, cabinetry wood and fabrics.
“We’ve had a solid relationship with Crow’s Nest for years,” Cogliati said in a statement. “They’re exactly what we were looking for to represent us with a great reputation, multiple locations, and we believe they’ll do a great job for us.”
