SeaStar Solutions acquires Tennessee plastics manufacturer

Posted on

SeaStar Solutions, formerly Teleflex Marine, recently acquired Inca Molded Products, a Nashville, Tenn.-based manufacturer of rotationally molded plastic products.

SeaStar is a supplier of marine steering and control systems, engine parts and related products. Founded in 1979 by Jim Porter, Inca is a pioneer in the design and manufacture of rotationally molded plastic fuel tanks and other custom products for the marine industry, Sea Star said. Its products can be found on many of the leading boats built in North America today.

SeaStar said Inca is the only manufacturer of roto-molded marine fuel tanks that uses RotoLoPerm technology. Fuel tanks are fully compliant with the latest EPA Clean Air Act and Marine Fuel Tank Permeation regulations and are ready for immediate use, SeaStar said.

“We are very excited about this acquisition, which will further enhance our product offering to boatbuilders,” SeaStar president and CEO Yvan Cote said in a statement. “Inca will remain in Nashville, where we will continue to serve customers with the same commitment that they expect from Inca and SeaStar Solutions. And as a member of the SeaStar Solutions family, Inca can now leverage all the resources SeaStar Solutions has available to it.”

With the new addition, the company will be able to cater to a wider client base with their different needs. This entails a larger responsibility though which I know that the company is prepared to accept.
