South Florida trade groups honors boatyard owner

The Marine Industries Association of South Florida named Roy Merritt of Merritt’s Boat and Engine Works in Pompano Beach as the 2013 recipient of its Golden Anchor Award.

The award is given in recognition of a lifetime of industry contribution and achievement.

The association will present the award at its annual meeting, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale.
