Wisconsin yacht dealer has new ownerPosted on
Wisconsin-based CenterPointe Yacht Services LLC agreed to buy Great Lakes Yachts Services of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., which has been held by the same family for the last 52 years.
Terms of the deal, which is slated to close later this summer, were not disclosed.
Great Lakes Yacht Services, formerly the Palmer Johnson yard, specializes in the sales, service, storage and repairs of privately and commercially owned vessels.
The newly combined Sturgeon Bay operation will have more than 100,000 square feet of indoor heated storage space and will offer service capabilities ranging from small outboard powerboats to large custom yachts. Along with the skilled technicians and craftsmen currently working at Great Lakes Yacht Services and CenterPointe in Sturgeon Bay, the experience developed during the last 18 years at CenterPointe’s Milwaukee yard, which stores and services more than 400 yachts a year, will be fully utilized, the company said.
By combining the existing CenterPointe Marina in Sturgeon Bay with the neighboring Great Lakes Yacht Services facility, CenterPointe will provide Door County boaters with complete, year-round service, storage, marina slips, and sales for all sizes of yachts.
