IBEX adds preconference sessionsPosted on
The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference, which takes place Sept. 17-19 in Louisville, Ky., will host four preconference sessions on the day prior to the show’s opening.
Gougeon Brothers, The Landing School, Composites Consulting Group, and CCP Composites will lead the sessions, which will cover a variety of topics concerning composite techniques, repair and applications, as well as a presentation about the cold-molded center console Flyfisher 22, which The Landing School builds.
“The preconference sessions are an added value for our IBEX attendees,” show director Anne Dunbar said in a statement. “These are longer, all-day workshops focused on teaching skills and giving participants some new knowledge or maybe even a new perspective.”
Composites Consulting Group will be offering a Composite Infusion Technology workshop designed for people who are new to closed-mold techniques, designers and engineers who want a better understanding of the process.
CCP will host an afternoon session titled Composites 101, an introduction to a number of composite technology topics.
In another session, Gougeon Brothers will hold its fiberglass boat repair course. It will also cover handling, uses, and physical properties of its West System epoxy.
Jamie Houtz, boatbuilding program manager at The Landing School, will deliver a presentation about the evolution, design and building of the Flyfisher 22.
Seating is limited at these sessions and registration is required.
