The Michigan City (Ind.) In-Water Boat Show opens today at Washington Park Marina, and organizers say it will feature millions of dollars’ worth of new boats from national manufacturers and local dealers.
Sponsored by Progressive Insurance and produced by the Lake Erie Marine Trades Association, the show has been held for more than 30 years and has grown to be one of the largest in-water events on the Great Lakes.
Carver Yachts plans to unveil the C40 Command Bridge yacht, the second new model the company has introduced this year.
Alligator handler Jeff Quattrocchi, who calls himself “The Swampmaster,” will be at the show with an 8-foot-long American alligator that has 80 teeth and weighs more than 200 pounds. The creature has a jaw strength of more than 2,000 pounds per square inch.
Hours today and Friday are noon to 8 p.m. On Saturday, the show will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday the hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
