Marina Industries Association names Australian winner of training scholarshipPosted on Written by Michael LaBella
The Marina Industries Association said the winner of the Bellingham Marine Australia Advanced Marina Management Scholarship is James Thompson, marina manager at the Sydney Boathouse.
The award is offered as an incentive for those in the marina industries to further their education and advance their career. It covers the cost of the AMM course, which is being held in Sydney from Sept. 22-27. The five-day program is a profit-management course for industry professionals who have completed the Intermediate Marina Management course. Both courses are endorsed by the Global Marina Institute.
The AMM School offers its graduates a national and international business perspective on management issues. The MIA screens applicants from the Asia Pacific region to ensure there is a well-balanced peer group that will share knowledge and experience equally.
Bellingham Marine NSW state manager Gary Charlwood and MIA executive officer Colin Bransgrove presented Thompson with his scholarship certificate at the marina on Tuesday.
