ABYC compliance event set for IBEX

Posted on

The American Boat and Yacht Council will hold a “Compliance and Standards Coffee” Wednesday at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference in Louisville, Ky.

The event, which will be held from 8-10 a.m. at the Compliance Pavilion on the IBEX showroom floor at the Kentucky Exposition Center, seeks to provide opportunities for attendees to network with compliance experts over free coffee and pastries.

Compliance leaders will be on hand to talk about such topics as the Standards and Technical Information Report for Small Craft Supplement 53 that was released in July and CE and ISO compliance.

“This is a perfect time to pick the minds of those who work in standards, regulations and compliance,” ABYC president John Adey said in a statement. “One of the hot topics this year has been news around tri-fuel testing and stability research, so those conversations will be raised.”

The coffee event begins one hour before the show opens to allow exhibitors more personal conversations without interrupting booth business.

Co-hosts for this year’s coffee event are ABYC; the American Boat Builders and Repairers Association; HPi Verifications Services Ltd.; the International Marine Certification Institute; Ken Cook Co.; the National Marine Manufacturers Association; and Rulefinder.net.
