IBEX reports boost in registration and exhibitorsPosted on
Organizers of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference are reporting that totals for attendee pre-registration, workshop and seminar enrollment, new exhibitors and total exhibitors have increased from last year.
“We are delighted that there is so much anticipation and excitement for IBEX this year,” show director Anne Dunbar said in a statement. “The increase in our pre-registration numbers reflects continued optimism and growth in our industry after some tough economic times. We have more than 65 new companies exhibiting, which is another good sign. There will be lots of new products and innovation to see and experience.”
IBEX, produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine and the NMMA, will be held Tuesday through Thursday at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
IBEX will have several boats on display, including the single-handed skiff MxNext from International MX Composites; the diesel-electric, solar-powered drive systems aboard the Greenline Hybrid from Greenline Yachts; and the purpose-built boat for saltwater fly fishing in the Northeast — the Flyfisher 22 — designed by Van Dam Custom Boats and built by The Landing School.
The exhibit hall is free for qualified attendees, along with opportunities that include ConnectWorld, a new live, interactive demonstration area offering education about how to interconnect marine devices using all available options, and a special session on Hispanic engagement on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
“IBEX is the place where the thought leaders of our industry advance marine products and technologies,” National Marine Manufacturers Association president Thom Dammrich said in a statement. “In just three days a significant amount of business will be conducted at IBEX, which will positively impact the marine industry in 2014 and beyond.”
