Texas brokers group names new president

Posted on

The Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association, an affiliation of brokers and associate members from the marine industry in Texas, named a new president.

David Hunt of Texas Power Yachts took the reins from past president Rex Bettis of Jay Bettis & Co.

The nearly 30-year-old association has been active in several areas of the industry, including encouraging members to become certified professional yacht brokers, Bettis said in an email.

“Currently we have a very high percentage of our broker members who have attained this goal,” Bettis said.

Nearly 50 percent of eligible broker members have the CPYB certification and Bettis expects the number to increase in the coming year.
