Annapolis sailboat show opens today

Posted on

The 44th annual U.S. Sailboat Show, which runs through Monday, opens today in Annapolis, Md., and organizers expect about 50,000 people to attend.

On Friday, Sailing World, Cruising World and the National Sailing Hall of Fame will host a discussion with Jimmy Spithill, the skipper of Oracle Team USA, which won the America’s Cup last month in San Francisco. Gary Jobson, the International Sailing Federation vice president who covered the race for NBC, will be the moderator.

The show, the oldest in-water sail show in the country, features interactive workshops and demos, a new charter and travel section, maintenance and service products and a drawing for a 7-day, 6-night charter in the Virgin Islands, provided by The Moorings with airfare sponsored by the BVI Tourism Board.

The best and most fun sailboat show. I was at the first one and it has improved every year. Best of success to the dealers and vendors.
