Mack Boring sets open house at new Massachusetts store

Posted on

Mack Boring & Parts Co. is holding an open house on Thursday and Friday to celebrate the opening of its store in New Bedford, Mass.

Lunch will be served Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and breakfast is being served on Friday from 8 to 11 a.m.

Engine factory representatives, as well as engine and generator specialists, will be on hand to answer questions and the store will offer door prizes. A formal ribbon-cutting will take place on Friday at 11 a.m.

Mack Boring, which has had a presence in the Northeast for 33 years, celebrated its 90th anniversary last year.

Mack Boring acquired a Yanmar Diesel distributorship in 1974, when the market didn’t know the Japanese manufacturer. Yanmar is now a leader in its market and Mack Boring is its No. 1 North American distributor. Mack Boring since has acquired the rights to distributorships of Isuzu Diesel, Mitsubishi Marine, Scania’s marine and industrial engines, and more recently, Steyr Motors.

The recreational division for Mack Boring covers 25 states as a Yanmar distributor — from Maine to South Carolina to the Great Lakes — through a network of about 200 Yanmar dealers.
