Rec Boat Holdings holds Scarab dealer meetingPosted on
Rec Boat Holdings wrapped up its first Scarab dealer meeting at its Cadillac, Mich., headquarters, introducing its new line of jetboats.
New dealers from 120 retail locations attended the two-day meeting, where they became familiar with the company’s operations, business plans and philosophy. The meeting is expected to be an annual event.
“We have been overwhelmed by the dealer response to our new Scarab boat line,” Rec Boat Holdings group president Roch Lambert said in a statement. “Although the jet segment is not new to the industry, dealers are reacting extremely positively to not just our new product, but our entire business plan for jets.”
The company says orders have far exceeded goals.
Five months after the company announced plans to enter the jet segment, it has signed high-profile dealers that include MarineMax, SkipperBud’s and Wilson Marine.
“When the management at Rec Boat Holdings shared their vision with us months ago on the new jet project, we were instantly attracted to the opportunity,” SkipperBud’s president Mike Pretasky Jr. said in a statement. “We’ve had good success with their other brands and believe in their business strategies. I’m confident the new Scarab line will be equally as successful for us.”
Rec Boat Holdings LLC, parent of the Four Winns, Glastron, Scarab and Wellcraft brands, announced its entry into the jet-propelled runabout segment in May.
