Strictly Sail Long Beach sees attendance boostPosted on
Progressive Insurance Strictly Sail Long Beach show organizers said the four-day event that ended Sunday attracted nearly 5,000 people, a 16 percent increase from 2012.
Organizers said initial feedback was positive and mirrored what boat show exhibitors have been reporting across the country sales and solid leads were generated and visitors came looking to buy.
Southern Californias largest all-sail event ran from Oct. 24-27 and was held at Shoreline Village at Rainbow Harbor.
The show offered features and educational opportunities designed to introduce people to the sailing and on-water lifestyle. There were free sailing lessons aboard an on-land sailing simulator, daily seminars from sailing industry experts, sailing workshops through Discover Boatings Hands-On Skills Training Series and a variety of childrens activities designed to attract a wide audience.
