Strictly Sail Long Beach sees attendance boostPosted on
Progressive Insurance Strictly Sail Long Beach show organizers said the four-day event that ended Sunday attracted nearly 5,000 people, a 16 percent increase from 2012.
Organizers said initial feedback was positive and mirrored what boat show exhibitors have been reporting across the country — sales and solid leads were generated and visitors came looking to buy.
Southern California’s largest all-sail event ran from Oct. 24-27 and was held at Shoreline Village at Rainbow Harbor.
The show offered features and educational opportunities designed to introduce people to the sailing and on-water lifestyle. There were free sailing lessons aboard an on-land sailing simulator, daily seminars from sailing industry experts, sailing workshops through Discover Boating’s Hands-On Skills Training Series and a variety of children’s activities designed to attract a wide audience.
