Yachting Pages sees improvement in superyacht categoryPosted on
Superyacht industry directory Yachting Pages says the Cannes and Monaco boat shows demonstrated a rebound in the superyacht segment of the industry.
The company, which launched two new products this year — Yachting Pages Delivers and Yachting Pages Refit — said the shows were the best in its 10-year history.
“This time last year I was speaking to a refit yard who had just one yacht on their books and were concerned about the following season,” industry journalist Michael Howath said in a statement. “This year I have spoken to them again. They are currently working on four independent projects and are busier than ever before. This is good news and I think reflects the growth in the marine sector as a whole.”
“This year’s charter season has picked up, and the marine industry as a whole seems more enthusiastic,” said Xavier Nedjam, one of Yachting Pages’ multilingual account managers. “There was a fantastic positive attitude at both Cannes and Monaco, with the shows being busier than ever. It was a pleasure to be there and be part of such a great atmosphere. Finding out at the end that Yachting Pages has seen a 43 percent increase on last year means to me that our customers are doing good business, and that is what is most important.”
The media group said it has seen growth of 70 percent between September 2012 and the same month this year, which the company says correlates with the overall increase in spending at Monaco and Cannes.
