Recreational Fishing Alliance schedules seminars at New York show

The Recreational Fishing Alliance will host a series of seminars at the New York Boat Show, which kicks off Wednesday and runs through Sunday at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan.

RFA members will receive a $3 discount on admission when they purchase tickets online and enter the promo code RFA.

The seminars begin Thursday evening at 6 p.m. with RFA managing director Jim Hutchinson talking about “Bunker Bustin’ Bass” techniques. At 7 p.m. “West End Fluke” will feature Capt. Austin Perilli, a Brooklyn-based light tackle expert who chases doormats from the flats of Gravesend Bay and Coney Island to deepwater hot spots such as the Ambrose and Chapel Hill channels in search of New York fluke.

On Friday night, Capt. Rich Tenreiro of R&G Charters in Port Washington will educate attendees about “Blackfishing on Long Island Sound.” Tenreiro co-stars in the syndicated fishing show “Northeast Angling Television.” At 7 p.m., Capt. Joe Paradiso of Eastern L.I. Sportfishing Charters will present a class called “East End Stripers.”

More seminars will take place all day Saturday, ranging from “Jigging Blackfish” to Fly and Light Tackle NY Bight” tactics.
