San Francisco show debuts in JanuaryPosted on
The inaugural Progressive Insurance San Francisco Boat Show, featuring vessels ranging from luxury motoryachts to personal watercraft, will be held at McCovey Cove and Pier 48 in January.
Organizers said the Jan. 23-26 event will include more than 150 new boats for sale on land and in the water, marine accessories and daily boating and sailing seminars.
“The combination of McCovey Cove and Pier 48 creates the perfect setting for a premier boat show in the Bay Area,” show executive director Dave Geoffrey said in a statement. “The San Francisco Bay Area has not seen a boat show of this magnitude in a very long time and we’re very excited to provide Northern California boaters and non-boaters alike a chance to enjoy and discover the boating lifestyle.”
Organizers said McCovey Cove will be transformed into an in-water showroom, allowing visitors access to the larger in-water luxury motoryachts, sailboats and fishing vessels. There also will be daily on-the-water workshops for those who want boating lessons.
Inside, Pier 48 will be filled with trailer boats, ski boats and marine accessories and there will be daily educational opportunities, organizers said.
Show hours are: noon to 7 p.m. Jan. 23 and Jan. 24; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 25; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 26.
One-day adult tickets are $12; children 15 and younger are free when accompanied by an adult; and active military, fire and police personnel are free with ID.
