IMBC 2014: ValvTect names Marina of the YearPosted on Written by Jim Flannery
FORT LAUDERDALE — Dog River Marina & Boatworks, of Mobile, Ala., was named ValvTect Marina of the Year Wednesday night at a dinner in Fort Lauderdale.
ValvTect president Jerry Nessenson cited the marina for outstanding customer service, community involvement and its environmental stewardship of ValvTect marine fuels.
The 90-slip marina is at Mile Marker 1 of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Founded in 1960, the marina has 38 employees, many of which have been with the company for more than 25 years. One of them has worked for the marina for 41-1/2 years.
“That’s what I’m most proud of,” owner Sonny Middleton said.
Other finalists were Southport Marina in Southport, N.C., and Harbour Town Yacht Basin in Hilton Head, S.C.
