Macris Industries names sales and marketing VP

Macris Industries chose industry veteran Dean Travis Clarke as its new sales and marketing vice president.

Before joining Macris, Clarke was a marine journalist. He was executive editor at Bonnier Corp. for more than 20 years before founding DTC-Marine Multimedia.

At Bonnier, Clarke worked with Sport Fishing, Marlin, Fly-Fishing in Saltwaters, Boating, Motorboating and Yachting magazines. He also hosted the popular and award-winning “Sport Fishing TV” show on the Versus, NBC Outdoors and SunSports networks. He created digital and social media campaigns for advertisers and government agencies.

Clarke has received the National Marine Manufacturers Association’s Director’s Award for being the foremost marine journalist in North America. He also received appointments from Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano to serve on the National Safe Boating Advisory Council and the Navigation Safety Advisory Council. He sits on the National Advisory Board of BoatUS. He also is an active, licensed judge referee with the U.S. Rowing Association.

Macris said Clarke will expand the company’s national and international reach.

Macris, based in Mystic, Conn., designs, manufactures and markets advanced technology products for harsh environments. Macris makes ultra-thin, waterproof, impact-and pressure-resistant underwater LED arrays, represented by the MIU Series.
