The Tom George Yacht Group said it formed a new strategic alliance and partnership with Hatteras and Cabo Yachts.

The yacht group will be an authorized sales and service center on the west coast of Florida for Hatteras and Cabo Yachts from 36 to 100 feet.

“We are very excited to have the Tom George Yacht Group representing our brands,” Hatteras and Cabo Yachts president and CEO John Ward said in a statement. “Tom and his team bring a wealth of experience and passion for both our industry and the Hatteras and Cabo brands.”

The yacht group is a boutique brokerage located at Marker One Marina in Dunedin, Fla., one of the largest marinas on Florida’s west coast.

Marker One has 144 wet slips, more than 250 high and dry slips and 24-hour fuel availability and is a full-service marina just inside Hurricane Pass on the Gulf of Mexico.

George has sold the Hatteras brand for more than 16 years. He previously was named Top Salesman of the Year, Distinguished Salesman of the Year for 11 years in a row and was presented with the Top Gun award.

He has built many custom Hatteras Yachts and is an authority when it comes to new builds, new designs and assisting clients with purchasing and/or selling motoryachts and sportfish yachts of all brands.

George has also been successful in custom building and reselling the 100MY Hatteras, as well as numerous sportfish yachts from 50 to 86 feet over the years. Most recently, Tom George Yacht Group sold three of the new design 60MY Hatteras in the open market to past clients and is one of the most active Hatteras brokerage facilities in the world today specializing in new and used boats.

“This partnership with Hatteras and Cabo Yachts is very exciting for our team as well,” George said in a statement. “We are proud to be aligned with this industry leader and look forward to representing and selling this state-of-the-art, world-renowned brand.”

“Strategic Alliance”! Wow. Sounds like a Kissinger-Chou en Lai major powers summit agreement early ’70s-style.

Tom, I’m sure you’re going to do a great job as a DEALER.

But…BUT–keep in mind that at least one major boat manufacturer had a closet containing filing cabinets bursting at the seams with…cancelled dealers.

No malice intended, just my $.02, YMMV.

    Peace.
