Lund Boats debuts 21-foot sportfishing vessel

Lund Boats unveiled a new fiberglass sportfishing boat, the 208 Pro-V GL Tiller.

The 20-foot, 8-inch boat is built on Lund’s IPS2 fiberglass hull. It’s rated for as large as a 250-hp Mercury outboard and has power tilt steering.

Lund said product manager Rory Wiebe has noted a resurgence in demand for back-trolling-style tiller boats. The builder said the 208 Pro-V GL Tiller represents the next generation of fiberglass tillers, including the largest fishable platforms and the largest available engines.

“Even at the design table, fishing is never far from our minds,” Wiebe said in a statement. “We’re a tight-knit group — anglers and engineers — who work closely with the best anglers in the country. The Lindners, Gary Roach, Ted Takasaki and numerous others continue to provide keen ideas and design input that we take from the water to concept, and then back to the water again.”

Wiebe said the result of this collaboration creates evidence of the Minnesota-based boatbuilder’s proficiency with the fiberglass hull material.
