Lake Erie show returns in MayPosted on
The Lake Erie Marine Trades Association said the Progressive Insurance Catawba Island Boat Show will return May 2-4.
The show is held at the Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio, and will mark its 10th anniversary as the weekend in-water event that has come to be seen as the start of the boating season on Lake Erie. Organizers said this year’s show will be the largest in the event’s history, with more boats in the water and more accessory displays ringing the harbor basin. It is the only time the club is open to the public.
The timing allows dealers to show new 2014 models as large as 60 feet that they’ve received since the Cleveland show in January. Hand-picked used boats are also included. The format of the show permits easy demonstrations and sea trials.
The event includes daily live musical entertainment, a special wine-tasting day, a beer-tasting event and Discover Sailing rides. Parking and show admission are free.
