Tiara Yachts plans summer launch of 44-footerPosted on Written by Chris Landry
Tiara Yachts this summer will launch the second model in its series of coupe sport express boats with a 44-footer, the manufacturer announced Wednesday. The 50 Coupe made its debut last fall and was shown at the 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The 44 is a continuation of Tiara’s effort to satisfy the needs of today’s younger buyers and time-strapped families, who are looking for boats more suited to shorter outings with interior layouts and amenities that promote social interaction.
“We have enjoyed tremendous success with the introduction of our 50 Coupe, and based on our analysis of the retail market today and demand for the near future, a new 44 in the same class will yield parallel success,” S2 Yachts president and CEO Tom Slikkers said in a statement.
Like the 50 Coupe, the 44 will be powered by Volvo Penta IPS with joystick helm control. It will also feature “glass cockpit instrumentation,” which creates a clean helm station with touch screen displays.
The forward stateroom will have its own private head, and an amidships guest stateroom and day head also will be part of the overnighting accommodations. An aft galley will open directly to the cockpit via large sliding doors. The interior will feature modern styling, coupled with Tiara’s traditional teak interior design. The styling mix aims to appeal to current Tiara customers and attract new, younger buyers.
The galley is on the starboard side and the helm is forward of that. An L-shaped settee with table will be on the port side. In the cockpit there will be a large transom seat and two single settees in the forward corners of the cockpit.
Pricing and propulsion specifics have not been released yet.
