Charter show set for June in Rhode IslandPosted on
In addition to touring a curated selection of world-class luxury yachts, guests at this summer’s Newport (R.I.) Charter Yacht Show are being invited to engage in several industry-focused seminars during the week.
Scheduled for June 23-26 on the Newport, R.I., waterfront, the show is organized by the Newport Exhibition Group and caters to charter professionals and discriminating consumers (attending with brokers).
Speakers will include Michelle Otero Valdés, a board-certified maritime lawyer; Gail Lowney Alofsin, a professor, sales/marketing executive and author; Belle Aimee Capt. Mike French; and Heather Kearsley Wolf, CEO, founder and lead designer of Kearsley Couture.
On June 25, the American Yacht Charter Association will host its annual seminar. Bob Saxon will emcee the event.
With the exception of the AYCA session, seminars are free to show participants and guests. Tickets to the AYCA’s seminar are $30 for industry professionals and $20 for crewmembers (if registered and paid in advance) or $40 a person paid at the door via check or cash.
To RSVP for the AYCA seminar, please email Sandy Carney at firstname.lastname@example.org.Checks can be made payable to A.Y.C.A c/o Sanderson Yachting, 223 Wapping Road, Portsmouth, R.I. 02871. To pay with credit card or PayPal, visit http://www.ayca.net/seminar2014.html.
The Newport Charter Yacht Show is the only one of its kind in the country and explores the many avenues of luxury chartering in a waterfront setting. Dockside at the Newport Yachting Center, a collection of motor and sailing yachts — from 80 feet to the superyacht length of 150 to more than 225 feet — will be open for touring, and land exhibits and social activities will round out the event.
