NMMA reports gains in engine shipments and retail sales

U.S. outboard engine wholesale shipments and retail sales increased in April, the National Marine Manufacturers Association reported.

The NMMA’s exclusive monthly report on outboard wholesale shipments and retail sales showed that shipments were up 11.5 percent in April from a year earlier for the NMMA’s control group of manufacturers.

Corresponding dollars were up 22.2 percent, the group reported.

For the 12 months through April, unit volumes were up 5.8 percent year-over-year and corresponding dollars were up 10.9 percent.

Total retail sales based on warranty card registrations were up 9.6 percent year over year on a rolling 12-month basis, up slightly from the previous month.
