Italian boatbuilder marks 60th anniversaryPosted on
Genoa, Italy-based Otam is celebrating 60 years of powerboating.
The company was founded in 1954 and its current Millennium range includes seven models from 45 to 80 feet.
Otam’s first models were the Otam 36 and the Otam 38. During the 1970s the yard’s special capabilities, combined with the dedication of its craftsmen, allowed Otam to create a construction yard that built 15 triple-planked wooden yachts, many of which are still sailing today.
“The Otam range offers highly demanding clients who love luxury performance and the opportunity to customize both layouts and interior designs for an exclusive and singular offshore yacht. In the near future we will amplify our range with the Millennium 100, along with a few surprises for the mega-tender and chase boat market,” Otam sales and marketing director Antonio Caviglia said in a statement.
The Genoa-based yard has 3,200 square meters of covered facilities and 4,700 square meters of open.
A recently launched 180-ton Travelift can handle yachts as large as 40 meters and 180 tons.
Otam’s private marina has more than 35 berths for yachts as large as 45 meters.
