Outer Reef Yachts opens office in ColombiaPosted on
Outer Reef Yachts is opening a sales center in Cartagena, Colombia, led by Jaime Borda.
The company chose the location because of its growth potential as a center for business and tourism and to become a hub of the Caribbean yachting community.
“We chose to continue our company’s growth in Cartagena, given that in the last five years the city has become a prominent location in the Latin American market, a burgeoning commercial and residential real estate center for Central and South Americans,” Outer Reef president and CEO Jeff Druek said in a statement. “Many of our clients in Latin America see Cartagena as the heart of yachting activity, with magnificent views reachable within minutes of the inlet.”
According to Data Monitor Financial 2014, the Colombian wealth market’s value is forecast to grow robustly between 2011 and 2015, second only to the Brazilian market among companies studied in the database.
The number of affluent people is forecast to grow at compounded rate of 10.6 percent during the same period.
“Cartagena offers both a strong home base marina for Latin America’s elite yachting community and is a convenient location, offering a myriad of services to a diversified group of yacht owners, including the strong and growing demographic of clients from surrounding Latin American countries, including Panama, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina,” Borda said.
The Outer Reef Cartagena and South Florida sales team participated in the inaugural Panama International Boat Show, which ended Sunday.
