Sailing Hall of Fame adds Lifetime Achievement Award

Posted on

The board of the National Sailing Hall of Fame said it will present a new Lifetime Achievement Award annually, starting this year.

Since 2011, the hall has recognized American sailors 45 and older for their impact on the growth and development of the sport in a variety of categories.

The new category allows the recognition of a person who, over a lifetime, has made contributions to and/or had success in the sport while also becoming successful and achieving stature in a non-sailing career.

The award recipient will become a member of the hall of fame and will join the 2014 class of inductees, which will be announced at the end of this month.
