Boating United plans to ask Trump for ethanol reform

Posted on

Since it launched late last year, Boating United has received nearly 2,000 signatures on a petition in response to the record-high ethanol mandate the EPA set in November.

Boating United is a national community of boating businesses, enthusiasts and supporters.

The group plans to deliver a letter after the President-elect Donald Trump is inaugurated, asking the Trump administration to reform the Renewable Fuel Standard.

The incoming administration will have latitude to take the RFS program in a new direction, one that factors in the concerns of the recreational boating industry, the National Marine Manufacturers Association said in a statement.

“President Trump needs to hear directly from our community to fully understand the dangers and problems that are inherent to the RFS,” the NMMA added.
