Electric and hybrid propulsion conference set for FloridaPosted on
The Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo Florida Conference and Exhibition will be held next week at the Tampa (Fla.) Convention Center.
Organizers said the Jan. 16-18 event is dedicated solely to showcasing the latest and next-generation electric and hybrid marine propulsion technologies. It will have exhibits and conference speakers from around the world.
Organizers also said the event will discuss and showcase repowering solutions and systems integrators and service agents.
Alongside the exclusive, free-to-attend conference with almost 30 expert speakers, organizers said that more than 50 exhibits will showcase a handful of the latest electric and hybrid boats, as well numerous propulsion systems and the components that go into creating a green-marine propulsion system.
The list of speakers includes Capt. Todd Smith, global sales manager for hybrid systems at Torqeedo; Phil Purcell, executive director of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida; Will Ayers, chief electrical engineer for Elliott Bay Design Group; Jim Koniers, senior mechanical engineer at DRS Technologies; and Wärtsilä director Peter Rogers.
