Hartford Boat Show organizers said the second day of the Feb. 9-12 event this year has been designated as Senior Skip’rs Day.

Visitors older than 60 will be admitted for $8 on Friday, Feb. 10, from noon to 5 p.m.

Organizers said seminars, demonstrations, personality appearances and a happy hour will focus on the recreational activities and lifestyle of senior boaters in Connecticut that day.

Sessions that day will include the Annapolis School of Seamanship presentations “Docking and Line Handling,” “iNavigation” and “How to Get Your Captain’s License.”

Black Hawk Fishing Charters will present “Catch More Winter Cod.”

Susan Tamulevich, executive director of the New London Maritime Society, will host a special segment on the lighthouses of Long Island Sound and activities and events that will be held throughout the summer.

“Senior boaters are among the most active and engaged group on the water here in Connecticut, and we are pleased to be able to offer activities and sessions at the Hartford Boat Show that would be of interest and fun for them,” Kathleen Burns, executive director of the Connecticut Marine Trades Association, said in a statement.

Produced by the CMTA, the show will be held at the Connecticut Convention Center and feature 150 exhibitors and more than 250 boats and watercraft, and will cover about 180,000 square feet on two floors.
