Houston show opens Friday for nine-day run

The 62nd annual Houston Boat, Sport and Travel Show opens on Friday and runs through Jan. 15 at the NRG Center — with the exception of the one day it will close for the Texans playoff game at the stadium.

Organizers are spreading the word that on Saturday, Jan. 7, the show will be closed due to the Texans playoff game.

For the other days, the show will fill 700,000 square feet of space with more than 1,000 powerboats, pontoons, cruiser, fishing boats, personal watercraft, kayaks, campers, trailers and accessories — filling the entire floor of the NRG Center.

The show’s dozens of seminars include expert fishing demonstrations at the 5,000-gallon Bass Tub aquarium.
