Marine Travelift said Snead Island Boat Works has been buying its boat hoists since 1968.

Marine Travelift said it recently delivered a 50-metric ton mobile boat hoist to Snead Island Boat Works in Palmetto, Fla.

It joins a fleet of four existing machines ranging from 15 to 75 metric tons and is the ninth Marine Travelift to call the marina home. Marine Travelift said Snead Island has been buying its boat hoists since 1968.

“Through the years we’ve seen the
different models and all of the new features
and options Marine Travelift has to offer,” Snead Island Boat Works owner and manager Gary Alderman said in a statement.

“They continue to evolve with the industry and it’s been really neat to witness the evolution of the boat hoist in front of our own eyes.”

Marine Travelift said the new 50 BFMII mobile boat hoist at Snead Island features improvements such as industrial tires, remote diagnostics, a custom top beam extension to accommodate the high volume of sailboats in the area, wireless remote control with digital load readout and easier access for machine maintenance and engine compartment access.
