Maritime Program Group said it expanded its ocean marine programs to include a new underwriting facility targeting commercial shipyards, terminal operators, ship repairers, stevedores, port authorities and wharfingers.

Marine coverages can be offered standalone or packaged with related lines, including marine general liability, bumbershoot and excess liabilities, hull and P&I, property, crime, inland marine and auto.

Policies will be written with North American Specialty, A+ admitted Swiss Re paper. The company said it handles all underwriting, quoting, issuance and servicing in-house.

Maritime Program Group, of Westbrook, Conn., is a program administrator that provides marine insurance products and underwriting services to its U.S. broker network.

“We are thrilled to be able to expand our Swiss Re underwriting facility to help offer our retail agents a package solution on A+ admitted paper to service their marine clientele,” Jason Holbrook, underwriting manager of Maritime Program Group’s ocean marine department, said in a statement.
