Priority One Financial Services said business manager Lars Thurman died Sunday of cancer.
Thurman had worked at the marine industry finance and insurance outsourcing provider since early 2015 and the company said he contributed to its growth and success.
“Lars was loved and respected by all who knew him,” operations manager Rina Aponte said in a statement. “His dealers continue to call me today to offer their condolences and thank us, as they were always impressed by his professionalism and desire to serve.”
Before joining Priority One, Thurman served for 10 years as the finance director for several large automotive dealer groups, including AutoNation in the Tampa, Fla., market. He was certified as a finance professional by the Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals.
Thurman previously worked in the health care industry. He had been president and CEO of Asgard Alliance Corp., and president and COO of Fairfield Medical Products Corp.
“I am grateful and honored to have worked with Lars over the years,” Aponte said. “His conversations, kindness, sense of humor and love for his family and friends will always be admired.”
Thurman is survived by his wife, Phyllis, and daughter, Lauren.
