Navico Americas sales director joins NMEA board

Navico Americas sales director Sean Hatherley was named to the board of the National Marine Electronics Association.

Navico is the parent company of the Lowrance, Simrad and B&G brands. NMEA board members are appointed to three-year terms.

“The NMEA is a vital organization that supports the industry in the development of safe and effective recreational marine electronics,” Hatherley said in a statement. “I am honored to join the board of directors and look forward to helping drive the organization to achieve its goals in the coming years.”

Hatherley has been sales director at Navico since 2014, overseeing everything from sales to technical installers, local retail accounts and wholesale distribution in the Americas.

He works with territory sales managers that cover all of Navico’s recreational brands. Hatherley has an electronics engineering degree and an extensive background in marine electronics sales and support.

The NMEA’s mission is to be a worldwide, self-sustaining organization committed to enhancing the technology and safety of electronics used in marine applications.

It provides leadership to its members, facilitates communications between members and constituent groups, encourages members to establish quality processes, offers education to its members and influences applicable legislative and regulatory processes pertaining to the industry.
