Evo Yachts debuts 42-foot motoryachtPosted on
The Evo 43 made its U.S. debut at Yachts Miami Beach and Italian yacht builder Evo Yachts said it is adding the Evo WA.
Designed by Studio Tecnico Rivellini, with interiors and exteriors by Valerio Rivellini, and built by Blu Emme Yachts, the brand-new walkaround springs from the same design concept as the Evo 43.
The company said the 42-foot motoryacht allows easy movement between the stern beach area and the bow by “walking around” the helm station. This characteristic, which gives the yacht its name, is borrowed from the world of fishing boats.
Evo WA, like the previous model, is fitted with XTension stern sidewalls that can be opened hydraulically in less than 30 seconds by tapping a touch screen. The company said this increases the space in the beach area by 40 percent, turning it into a sea terrace covering more than 269 square feet, something usually only offered by boats more than twice the size.
Evo said all operations on board are aided by the latest-generation home automation solutions, which allow all of the yacht’s navigation parameters and basic functions to be managed from an iPad.
The yacht is powered by Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines. Combined with an 18-degree deadrise deep-vee hull, they give the yacht a top speed of 40 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots, the company said.
“Evo WA is our new challenge,” Evo Yachts owners Alfredo and Rosario Mercuri brothers said in a statement. “Our aim is to expand the Evo fleet, offering owners the possibility of choosing the yacht that best suits their seafaring needs. Customization and quality remain the shipyard’s points of strength and are also distinctive features of the Evo WA. We are convinced that our choices will prove to be winning ones, as was the case with Evo 43.”
The new Evo WA will make its official debut at the next Cannes Yachting Festival in September, where it will appear with the rest of the Evo Yachts range.
