North Carolina show signs sponsorship deal with YamahaPosted on
JBM & Associates, producers of the Wilmington (N.C.) Boat Show, said the show and Yamaha Motor Corp. agreed to a multiyear partnership.
“After a tremendous first-year show, we knew we had something special, but to have Yamaha as our partner, we are ecstatic. They bring a wide berth of possibilities for the show, as well as a great deal of clout,” Jacqui Bomar, president of JBM & Associates and founder of the show, said in a statement.
The first Wilmington show was held last September at Port City Marina, Pier 33, Battleship Park and the Wilmington Convention Center. It drew more than 12,000 people over three days.
“The amount of traffic exceeded my highest expectation. What a first-class way to introduce a top-quality boat show at a new venue, in a new city. Thousands of participants were able to view the best brands in boating from the best dealers in the region while enjoying the beautiful river view of downtown Wilmington, N.C.,” said Thom Cross, general manager of MarineMax, Wrightsville Beach.
Bomar said she believes the show had as much first-year success as it did because Wilmington is the perfect East Coast location for a major in-water boat show. With the amount of boaters in North Carolina alone and no other in-water show, the show’s downtown location showcased boats of all makes and models.
“My team and I had reports from boat dealers who sold boats to attendees from Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Missouri and Michigan,” Bomar said. “Those are just the folks we had an opportunity to hear from.”
JBM & Associates has produced the Charleston Boat Show for 16 years, the Savannah Boat Show for 15 years and the Charleston In-Water Boat Show for four years.
The Wilmington show will return from Sept. 8-10.
“We are already sold out of in-water exhibit space six months prior to the show, and in my history this is unheard of,” Bomar said.
