Shorter Minneapolis show draws big crowdsPosted on
The Progressive Insurance Northwest Sportshow saw attendance remain relatively flat despite being a day shorter this year.
The NMMA said the March 23-26 Minneapolis show had attendance of 31,270 for four days, nearly even with 2016’s five-day turnout of 31,493. Attendance on the last day of the show, Sunday, March 26, was a record, up 45 percent from last year.
Comparing attendance from Thursday to Sunday in both years, attendance was up 7 percent.
With camping, marine and tackle sections at full capacity and an expansion of the travel section, retailers reported sales, trips booked and strong leads, according to the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
