BoatUS offers guide to set up life-jacket loaner sites

Posted on

The BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water is trying to help businesses set up life-jacket loaner sites.

The foundation said its no-cost “How To Set Up a Life Jacket Loaner Program” guide provides step-by-step instructions and includes information about how to access free or discounted resources for a loaner program.

BoatUS said customizable educational and promotional signs, posters and fliers are available for purchase at discounted rates, or business owners can simply download the print-quality files, as well as sign-out forms and a life jacket fitting video, at no cost.

“We’ll show you how, give you signage and publicity materials and offer discounted life jackets to get up and running quickly and easily,” BoatUS Foundation outreach manager Alanna Keating said in a statement.

Everything is available at BoatUS.org/life-jacket-loaner.

A partnership between the BoatUS Foundation and Stearns offers groups discounted life jackets directly from the life jacket manufacturer. There is a minimum order of 12 for the red-and-white vest-style Type II and Type III jackets. Infant to adult sizes are available.
