Coast Guard Foundation honors Houston crewPosted on
The Coast Guard Foundation held its annual tribute to the Coast Guard in Houston last Wednesday and recognized Air Station Houston air crew CGNR 6581.
The air crew was honored for the rescue in April 2016 of two fishermen whose boat was capsized by a large wave.
In addition, the 2017 Guardian Award was presented to ConocoPhillips, a Houston-based oil and natural gas producing company, at the foundation’s annual tribute to the Coast Guard in Houston.
Adm. Paul F. Zukunft, commandant of the Coast Guard, delivered keynote remarks.
“We are very proud to be able to recognize the bravery of this aircrew from Air Station Houston,” Coast Guard Foundation president Susan Ludwig said in a statement.
“The men and women of the Coast Guard volunteer to put themselves in harm’s way to protect the lives of those that go to sea. Selflessness is a virtue many may possess, but is a hallmark of these professional individuals and we are humbled to honor them.”
