Houston summer show returns in June

The Houston Summer Boat Show announced its coming schedule and theme — “Wake Up! Catch a Great Deal!” — with dates planned for June 14-18 at the NRG Center.

Show organizers said sales data from the annual show are used as second- and third-quarter economic indicators in the recreational boating industry and overall economy.

“So far, 2017 has been a profitable year for the industry, and we predict a very successful show,” Houston show president Ken Lovell said in a statement. “That’s why local dealers who bring their merchandise to the show are committed to offering better sales incentives than they have in the past few years.”

Because the local economy is picking up, the region is seeing new boaters, and organizers are expanding educational opportunities for first-time boaters, Lovell said.

Organizers said the show offers a wide range of types and styles of boats for fishing, water sports and spending time on the water. There also will be exhibits showcasing fishing and water sports gear and accessories, electronics for boating, outdoor furniture, vacation getaways, and clothing and jewelry.
