Metstrade reports strong floor-space sales for 2017 show

With six months left before Metstrade 2017 opens in November, organizers said 92 percent of the floor space for the 30th edition of the show has been sold.

Organizers of the event, which will run from Nov. 14-16 at RAI Amsterdam, say the three dedicated pavilions for the superyacht, construction and materials and marina sectors are also growing exponentially.

RAI Amsterdam, organizer of the Metstrade Show, said it is seeing rising numbers of first-time participants signing up to join their global peers in Amsterdam.

“We already know that we will be welcoming well over 120 new exhibitors in November, following the trend of previous years,” RAI Amsterdam maritime manager Irene Dros said in a statement.

“While the high booking figures around 1,500 exhibitors from around the world illustrates the incredible loyalty to the Metstrade Show and what it means to the maritime industry as a whole, the number of new participants showcases how our brand is inspiring the next generation of companies, too.”

Examples of first-time exhibitors come from across the maritime spectrum and include Airwave Marine and Velcron Oy at Metstrade; Neptune, Dornbracht, Viking Recruitment and the Maritime Skills Academy in the SuperYacht Pavilion; Orsta Breakwater and VIS srl in the Marina & Yard Pavilion; and Toubois and Prodim in the Construction & Material Pavilion.

Metstrade also will feature a new Electric and Hybrid Showcase, a custom-designed boulevard that will focus on ways to implement innovative forms of propulsion in the boatbuilding process.

With an eye on the environment, boatbuilders and designers are increasingly focused on electric and hybrid propulsion, seeking new opportunities and possibilities to implement them in every area of construction. With this in mind, EnerSys has already decided to present its products in this new area in Hall 7.

The SuperYacht Pavilion is already almost fully booked, and the Construction and Material Pavilion, which will be 10 percent larger than last year, only has a few spaces available, organizers said.

Organizers have added a fourth entrance because of the significantly expanding floor space.
