Raritan gains patent for macerator pump

Posted on

Raritan Engineering said its 53101 macerator pump with waste valve received a U.S. patent.

Raritan said the waste valve isolates the impeller housing from the holding tank discharge port. Servicing the pump is simply a matter of turning the waste valve lever to the closed position and separating the quick-disconnect assembly — no more hose clamps and brittle, leak-prone rubber couplings, the company said.

Raritan said its pump, which has a list price of $290, was awarded patent No. 9,617,993.

“Our customers appreciate the reliability our products provide, but few understand what it takes to get to that point,” Raritan vice president of manufacturing and engineering Vinod Mehta said in a statement. “This patent validates the pioneering work we’re continually doing to advance marine sanitation.”

New Jersey-based Raritan makes marine toilets, waste treatment systems, icemakers and water heaters.
