Nautique employees volunteer in Dominican RepublicPosted on
Nautique employees traveled to the Dominican Republic recently for another project as part of the Nautique Cares initiative.
With the support of key vendors, the employees were able to help construct a custom playground at Hope Dominican Republic, a local mission camp, to give children a safe place to play.
The playground was fabricated in the United States by Nautique and its vendors, shipped to the Dominican Republic and assembled. It incorporated aluminum construction from partners at Diamondback, traction throughout provided by SeaDek and weatherproof coating from Ram Lin and U-Pol.
This was the second trip to the Dominican Republic by employees from Nautique. During the first trip they built a roof for a local resident, constructed a speaking platform and stage for a church and made classroom furniture for a small school.
“The Nautique team is very proud to take part in projects like this one in the Dominican Republic,” Nautique president Greg Meloon said in a statement. “We strive to make the world a better place, whether that’s at home or abroad, and through our Nautique Cares initiatives we are all pleased that we can make a difference in the lives of others.”
Nautique thanked Diamondback, SeaDek, Ram-Lin, Tampa Bay Steel, Masterline, Marine Fasteners and Comp One for their support of the project. The Nautique employees also received assistance from 23 members of the Adventures in Missions team.
